This school quality improvement program engages all stakeholders within the school community and school management including teaching and administrative staff, students, and the local community. The program provides teachers and staffs training and development, plans exchanges and study visits for them, and promotes the use of spoken and written English.
Using key quality benchmark indicators to track and monitor each school’s performance, this program has been implemented in 17 state high schools and 5 madrasahs (Islamic schools). Generally two to three years in duration, the schools typically experience notable advancements. The national rankings of the schools have been seen to improve significantly, while students’ English, Mathematics, and Economics scores have been seen to improve by more than 19%.
